Geocache Description:

Ebenezer Scrooge is the main character in Charles Dickens' 1843 novel, A Christmas Carol. He is a very cold-hearted, selfish man, who has no love for Christmas, children, or anything that even provokes happiness. "The cold within him froze his old features, nipped his pointed nose, made his eyes red, his thin lips blue, and he spoke out shrewdly in his grating voice ..." His last name has come into the English language as a byword for miserliness and misanthropy, traits displayed by Scrooge in the exaggerated manner for which Dickens is well-known. The story of his transformation by the three Ghosts of Christmas (Past, Present, and Yet to Come) has become a defining tale of the Christmas holiday in some cultures. Scrooge's phrase, "Bah, humbug!" has been used to express disgust with Christmas traditions in modern times. Let's dispense with old traditions and ring in new transformations! - Let's transform the meaning of "Bah, Humbug!" to signify one really fun time!

This year we will be highlighting LEBANON COUNTY and this may very well be the county's 1st ever GEO event. We will be enjoying our morning at Governor Dick/Mount Gretna area doing some traditional, walking caches

see additional waypoints for DAY FUN! parking in the morning.

EVENT MEAL & FESTIVITIES ...

at the Quentin Haus Restaurant, which is located on the corner of Rts. 72 & 419 in Quentin (N40' 16.666 W076'26.142)

They can accomodate up to 100 people. The meal will start at 2:30 and we would be out by 6. They have a Christmas party schedule for that evening. We would be ordering from their menu...they are known for their roast turkey items and that they roast turkeys everynight! The prices for lunches usually range from $4.95 to$ 6.95. The dinner special menu prices start at $8.00. There is plenty of parking and it is centrally located between the Day Fun and Night Run.

...The Night Run C&D's will START/END at POSTED coordinates. The Night Runs begin 6 pm sharp.

By 12/25 I want "bah humbug" to be synonymous with "ho ho ho Merry Christmas!" and said with the same amount of joy!
