JulFM: I'm going to archive this one for now, but I will still post a link to the finished official WWFM video that some of our pictures will be a part of. Thanks to everyone who participated in this event. Keep your eyes peeled for another, bigger, better WWFM in the Spring!

Geocache Description:

One in a Series of World Wide Flash Mob Events

A Gathering of Geocachers. This event will only be 15 minutes long! You MUST be present and sign the log sheet DURING this time to log an "attended" for the event. Please BYOP! (Bring your own pen)

Food, Fun and Fellowship in a Flash!

About the Event

This event is being held in conjunction with over 80 other World Wide Flash Mob (WWFM) events that will be held simultaneously on five continents, nine countries, eight Canadian providences and thirty two states!.(Really, check out the list of events!) Come be a part of a worldwide caching event, with potentially thousands of participants! You can check out footage of a similar event held this past May to see what you're in for by clicking HERE.

You've heard of mega-events? This is quite the opposite in a variety of ways. The event will last exactly 15 minutes, not one second longer. The event will begin PRECISELY at 11:00 am Central Time (by using the clock on GPS receivers) on Saturday 10 November 2007.

Before 11:00 AM, mill about and pretend to be muggles, admiring the beautiful park on a hopefully beautiful day!

11:00 AM - The Swag Bucket "drops" and the cache box for your log sheets opens! Log sheets will be handed out. Bring your own writing instrument. Sign individual log sheets and drop them in the collection box.(The Log Sheets are also your entry into a drawing for prizes!) Mix and Mingle with other cachers, trade swag (and maybe bugs?), etc!

11:08 AM - The event meal will be served.

11:13 AM - Assemble for and take group photo.

11:14 AM - One minute warning is called "It is now 11:14!" Prepare to leave.

11:15 AM - LEAVE the area!

Log sheets will be sent to Podcacher for a drawing from the prize vault!

About Spanish Plaza

Spanish Plaza sits adjacent to the Mobile Civic Center and in between the Mobile Mardi Gras Museum and the Mobile Chamber of Commerce.

Spanish Plaza honors the Spanish occupation of the city between 1780 and 1813. A statue of Queen Isabella stands here, an exhibit from the 1964-65 New York World's Fair.

The easiest way to get to Spanish Plaza to to take I-10 to the Water Street Exit (which is right before the tunnel if you are coming from the West or right after if you are coming from the East.) Once you are on Water Street take a left onto Government Street. (It should be the left in between Exploreum and the Riverview Plaza Hotel - I believe it's the first left.) Spanish Plaza will be a few blocks down on your left - there should be parking around the perimeter, but be advised the North and South streets are one way.

Some of the verbiage on this event was taken from other WWFM events.

If you are considering attending, please add this event to your watchlist in case any information changes.

If you would like to have lunch following the event at one of the restaurants on the bay, shoot me a message and we'll try to pull something together.

The background was created by the group putting on the WWFM - Montreal Flash Event Mondial

Hope to see you there!
