Geocache Description:

A pleasant walk on Knocklofty Reserve from the carpark at the top of Forest Road. Follow the track to where Glover painted and listen for the call of the frogs. Head up the summit loop track until you find a place to rest.

Drive up to the car park at the top of Forest Road. (car park gate shuts at 4.30 pm) Bring your dog and a thermos of tea to take in the view at the beginning or end of your search.

This cache is hidden at the root of a eucalypt tree that sits some 20 metres behind a stone seat part way up the summit loop track.

The cache holds a notebook and two small treats for those children who are with you. Feel free to swap the items within the cache that can be found hidden at the root of the tree behind the stone seat.

Follow the track North from the car park pass the spot chosen by John Glover to represent the view over early Hobart. Take time to read the information board. Walk on and listen out for frogs as you pass the frog pond.

Look for the start of the summit loop track. Head up the hill until you find a resting site created from the local stone.

Take a rest and enjoy the view over Hobart. Look behind you and seek the treasure beneath a oft burnt eucalypt.

Bring along something small to swap.
