This cache is hidden just off the side of the road in a decon cannister hanging just out of site. The origional contents were a couple of traveling geocoins and motorcycle related items and other swap trinkets.
This cache is hidden in memory of a good friend of ours. Wayne Owens was killed near this location while riding his Goldwing motorcycle on September 26, 2007, you will find his memorial cross just south a couple hundred feet from this cache location. Please visit his cross and pay your respects to one of the best friends we ever had.
The Desert Wings (local chapter of the Goldwing Road Riders Assoc.) were returning home from a funeral of another friend that had lost his life to cancer when an accident caused by a careless person in the other lane took Wayne's life on this spot.
Wayne was the type of person that would have done anything for anybody, he lived that way everyday and even on the day he died.
This was not an accident that was caused by someone not seeing the rider or the rider being careless, Wayne just happen to be at the wrong place at the wrong time. All I ask is that everyone be more careful and remember that motorcycle riders are persons with families and deserve the right to the road too.
