Geocache Description:

This is most definitely not a kid-friendly cache. It's located deep in a swamp and should be a definite challenge to reach. Attempt this at your own risk!

This is the first in what will be a series of six challenge caches. Clues from each cache will help lead you to the seventh and final cache. You're challenge for this cache is to navigate the maze of waterways through the dense swamp to reach a lock and lock hidden deep within. The water in the area averaged knee deep much of the time, but could rise to waist deep depth without warning.

If your GPS needs to be moving to give you accurate directions, bring in a good old fashioned compass. It's incredibly easy to get disoriented once you're inside the swamp. Every direction looks exactly the same. I found that aiming for taller trees visible above the brush made it easier to keep going in a straight path.

I suggest finding this with at least one partner. Not only will it be safer, but you'll be able to systematically search once you reach ground zero. I imagine it's going to be very, very difficult to locate something in the area.

Cache location description: I'll put it both here and in the hint. It's already difficult enough without withholding information. The cache is a fairly large, clear, plastic lock and lock container. It's wedged into the branches of a bush at knee level if you happen to be standing on the firm stuff... waist or chest level if you happen to be down in the water. The bush is directly next to a large tree. I suggest once you reach ground zero on your GPS, that you spot every tall tree within view, and systematically search near them all. Search for this one early in the day... you may be there for a while!
