Loa Loa is NOT your average parasite. It is a nematode that
wanders through subcutaneous tissue of humans. It is most noticable
when it crosses the conjuctiva of the eye, thus it's better known
name "The African Eye Worm". It is spread by the bite of a
fly...deerflies, mango flies, etc.
Thankfully it is only found in the rainforests of the Congo and
Sudan in Africa. So if you're planning any trips - be warned!
Why all this info? This cache is part of a bigger cache...Silly
Gilley's Average Parasite cache! And it was just fun to name it
after one of the most nasty parasites I've ever heard of :)
