WWFM - 15 minutes World Wide Flash Event Cache starting exactly
1:00 PM - Be on time and bring your own pen!
A Flash Mob is a large group of people who assemble suddenly in a
public place, do something unusual for a brief period of time, and
then quickly disperse.
DATE : Saturday, November 10, 2007
TIME:1:00 to 1:15 PM (only 15 minutes!)
WHERE: Grand Parade,downtown Halifax This Flash Mob Gathering of
Geocachers will be only 15 minutes long. You MUST be present and
sign the log sheet DURING this time to claim this event. After 15
minutes…we're gone!
This event will last exactly 15 minutes, and will be one small part
of the WWFM (world-wide flash mob event). This event (and all
others around the globe in their respective time zone) will begin
precisely at 1:00 PM on Saturday, November 10th. At exactly 1:00 PM
(as determined by my signal) a container with the event logbook
will be placed near the coordinates. Participants will sign in.
Names will be drawn from the list of attendees for the FTF, 2TF and
3TF prizes. At a designated time, we will have a “banquet” and will
take a group photo. At exactly 1:15 PM, the logbook will be closed.
The event area will be evacuated without a trace. Only those
participants whose names appear in the logbook may log THIS event.
For ALL people who are present and log the event around the world,
your name will be submitted for a draw by the organizers of the
WWFM... who knows, you just might win a prize for coming out!!!
ITINERARY: 12:45 - 12:59 PM - Participants: Wait patiently in your
vehicles or stroll around the area. Don't make it look like you're
waiting...
12:59 PM - I will reach ground zero with the container, and 1
minute later start the event on my signal. This is the signal for
the Flash Mob Event to begin. Everyone now makes their way to GZ.
1:00 PM - Sign the logbook. Mingle. Trade travel bugs and coins.
Share stories.Brag. Take pictures. Make arrangements to meet
elsewhere, or to find the various caches in the nearby area.
1:08 PM - The event “banquet” will be served! (Could be crackers,
could be partridge fingers, who knows!)
1:11 PM - Prize draws
1:13 PM - Assemble for a group photo (with GPS in hand). This will
be on the stairs with the Town Clock in the background.
1:14 PM - One minute warning is called "It is now 1:14!!!" Prepare
to leave, but don't make it look like you are.
1:15 PM EXACTLY - Wait for it ... then LEAVE the area (right at
1:15 PM)! Meet elsewhere if desired. If everything goes right we
will have lots of people coming out of nowhere and gathering for 15
minutes, holding a geocaching event and then disappearing…This
could be lots of fun and maybe even raise a few muggle eyebrows!
