Dewey wait 'til then? Mystery Cache

This cache has been archived.

Run&Hike: The building hosting the cache is scheduled for demolition and replacement--expected to take (at least) a year to complete. So, sadly, were going to end a seventeen-year run and archive the cache. Thanks to all the cachers that visited the cache since it published in October of 2007.

Geocache Description:

Welcome to Pocomoke City, "The Friendliest Town on the Eastern Shore" of Maryland. We hope you will enjoy your visit to our little town.

Solving this simple puzzle cache will require you to find and manipulate several numbers relating to Pocomoke's past, present, and future!

Once you have calculated VWX.YZ, you can locate the cache inside a building.

This is a log-only cache, so bring a pen or pencil.

Please replace the cache exactly as you found it.

The building is open:
Monday, Wednesday, Thurday & Friday: 9am - 5pm.
Tuesday: 9am - 7pm.
Saturday: 9am - 1pm
Sunday: CLOSED

The above coordinates are not the location of the cache, but at them you will find some of the information needed to find the cache.

Once there, look for a three-digit number, ABC, where C is two or more digits from A.
1. Reverse ABC to find CBA.
2. Subtract the smaller number from the larger number to get DEF.
3. Reverse DEF to find FED.
4. Add DEF and FED together to get GHJK.
5. Subtract 466 from GHJK to get VWX.

Now go to N38 04.459 W075 33.992 and read the stone.

6. Subtract the earlier year from the later year, and add this number to the original ABC
to get a new ABC.
7. Repeat steps 1-4 above to get a new GHJK.
8. Add 21 to GHJK to get LMNO.
9. Divide LMNO by 2 and then subtract 466 to get YZ.
