Explorers and Rescuers Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

Cache-tech: Greetings from Geocaching.com

I have been looking at caches in the area that have been temporarily disabled for a while now and it looks like your cache has been under the weather for some time. While I feel that Geocaching.com should hold the location for you and block other cachers from entering the area around this cache for a reasonable amount of time I don’t think we can do so any longer. Therefore, I have archived this cache.
When repairs to this cache are completed and it is time to have it reposted, it will be no problem. Just drop me a note and let me know the GC waypoint number of the cache or better yet, the URL of the cache page. You will still be able to access your cache page just as before by going to your “My Cache Page” and clicking the link (Mine) across the top and then click on this cache.

I will be more than happy to take a look at your cache again to see if it is still is within the guidelines of the Geocaching.com website for cache placement and posting.

I want to thank you for the time that you have taken to contribute to geocaching in the past and am looking forward to seeing your cache up and running in the future.

Thanks for your understanding,
Cache-tech

Geocache Description:

I have temporarily removed this cache due to the presence of a large number of red ants by the cache. They are NOT very kid friendly! I will try to establish it somewhere else nearby. Keep checking.

A nice walking trail in Greenwood with several other caches nearby. This one is geared for the kids. A large ammo box with lots of stuff! This geocache is one for the kids. My kids enjoy a cache where there is lots of kid-oriented stuff for them to chose from. When we found a Ty Dora the Explorer Plush Toy (at Frenchy's), we decided to make this a Dora and Diego themed cache.
Seemed appropriate with all the exploring and rescuing geocachers do.

The cache is a camoflaged 50 cal ammo can about 20m off the road in the light brush. We found 5 others along the way and decided a larger sized cache for the kids would be a good addition to these established caches.

The cache is listed as difficulty 2 only because of GPSr accuracy here despite the open sky. Use of the hint should take it down to a difficulty 1.

Please take care in hiding the cache as you found it.
A lot of geomuggles walk on this trail!

Based on a friends recent visit, I am told it can get quite wet if the conditions are right (wrong?) Be forewarned and bring rubber boots!

The original contents of this cache included;
a logbook and pencil, a FTF certificate, a Diego the Traveller TB, one each Dora and a Diego neck strap, one each Dora and Diego doorknob sign, a couple of Dora and Diego notepads, Dora and Diego bouncy balls, a small keychain light, a few CITO capsules for later hunts and several assorted pieces of swag.
Oh yeah! We also included the Ty Dora the Explorer Plush Toy that started it all as a FTF prize!

You do not have to continue this theme for swag, but if you could, so much the better.

Have fun!
