We were driving down the road and heard the chilling howl of a
coyote. Being close to a gravel road pull-off, we decided to pull
in and place a cache to honor the critter.
I ran over one of the creatures in my car on this stretch of
road several years ago. The Kentucky Department of Fish &
Wildlife documented that the number of coyote road kills in
Kentucky has increased from 2.26 carcasses per 10,000 miles of road
in 1996 to 3.4 carcasses in 2004. I am sure that the figure has
increased much more over the past three years.
This should be an easy find. It contains a few trade items and a
log, but no pen...please bring your own.
