Painted Rock Traditional Cache
leaflifter: Since it may be some months time before I find a replacement container, and under pressure from those with a conservative interpretation of the guidelines, Painted Rock has to go into the archive. Thank you to all for giving me such a good time with this cache. Perhaps someday it will come back again.

Modest uphill hike of at least a few hundred feet over rough ground and possibly tall grass
IMPORTANT, READ FIRST: Until I find a better cache container, don't put anything absorbent into the cache unless it's sealed in a plastic bag. Some examples of stuff not to put in are: stuffed animals, books, paper, business cards, cardboard, and anything made of fabric. By the time I get to it, it will be covered with mold and I'll have to throw it out. 3 items have already been molded and thrown out. If there's one thing I hate, it's waste.
This 5 gallon cat litter container is in the most interesting spot I can think of near an interesting rock. From the cache, you can see the lake that was created when the highway department excavated for fill on the highway embankments.
The best parking is along Pere Marquette Highway. There is a patch of gravel off the shoulder just before turning onto the northbound 31 entrance ramp.
The phonies are part of the cache. Return everything to the way it was when you arrived.
