Geocache Description:

Just short of the summit of Hedgehope Hill, Northumberland

Hedgehope Hill the Cheviot's under rated little brother. In my opinion it's a much better hill, more rounded, less boggy, no pavement to keep to and less likely to be foggy. The views from up here are fantastic especially towards the coast to the East. Deliberately placed about 100m off the summit to avoid damage to the cairn the cache is a 1 litre tupperware box. It’ll take a bit of finding and you need to be sure you’re up to this walk before you set out. The weather at an altitude of 700m can be up to 7 degrees colder at sea level (where most TV forecasts are given) and the wind chill can be pretty drastic. Having said that, this is one of my favourite winter climbs and often has wonderful snow conditions. Enjoy!

This cache was originally placed by theamazingBs in 2007 and then adopted by our very good friend Northumbria Biker who looked after it until late 2021, when we were privileged to adopt it (thanks Norman) and hopefully keep it active for many more years.
