This cache was designed by Consultant Jim, who consults on all things military.
It is a little different than most, as it is NOT designed for trading items. Inside the cache you will find the “Lest We Forget” journal. The journal contains a record of the names of people within our families that have served in the military….either past or present. We invite you to review the journal and add entries from your family and ancestry. This is an opportunity to remember those that have sacrificed so much for us all.
A great history lesson for the kids if they are with you. Some names date back quite far.
Please take a moment to read through the book..perhaps you will see a name you recognize. When you’re finished please add entries for the veterans in your family tree. If possible include:
• Name
• Rank
• Unit they served with
• Time period or year they served
• Wars/Battles that they took part in.
• Any stories or facts that you may have about them.
A moment of silence might be nice too to say thanks for their sacrifices.
This cache is also the launching point for the "Lest We Forget" companion travel bug, who's mission is to be photographed at 10 significant Canadian battle locations around the world.
Cache is located about 90 metres from the main trail and will require some light bushwacking. Parking at the trailhead is at N43 17.257 W80 08.487
