Geocache Description:

"Wiouwash Willows" is hidden along the Wiouwash Trail in Winnebago County.

This cache is located on the trail between Hunters Road and Medina Junction Road, off which there is better parking. Access to the cache can be made from either direction.

The search for this hide will include a reasonable hike in order to make the find. The trail to the south of the cache crosses the Rat River and has great waterfowl and other bird watching opportunities, with a significant population of sandhill cranes in the spring through fall months. An approach from the north may also include sightings of white-tail deer. The trail en route to the cache location would also be a great night hike for star-gazing, as there is no lighting nearby and there is mostly an open view of the sky along the way.

Originally a micro at the time of placement in 2007, the cache size was upgraded to a small in Spetember of 2009 as the final conversion of all Sagasu Wiouwash Trail micros to larger containers. The cache is now a camo'd container with a log and pencil, and some new start-up swag. Please be sure to leave the hide as found for others to have the same challenge.

PLEASE BE AWARE OF HUNTING SEASONS AND LOCATIONS IN THE AREA OF THE TRAIL AND TAKE THE USUAL PRECAUTIONS, INCLUDING WEARING BLAZE ORANGE, WHEN HUNTERS ARE PRESENT.

The Geocache Notification Form 2500-118 has been submitted to the DNR Service Center in Oshkosh, WI.

Congratulations to Sparse Grey Hackle & The Blondie Bloodhound for the FTF on Nov. 4!
