Geocache Description:

Located on a one mile trail rated moderate by dept of wildlife and parks

Park at Ancient Trees of The Cross Timbers trailhead, this is one of 2 caches we placed along the trail. The trail is open to foot traffic only probably because of the rocks you may need to climb over. It is a beautiful walk, although at times of the year may be slippery, wet and muddy. The trail takes you past some very old trees, with information signs along the way telling you dates in history that are related to the age of the trees. It also takes you along the egde of 6-8 feet ledges, so be cautious with small children. It has views of the lake and you may find some cool driftwood. In Summer will need to bug spray to prevent being eaten by ticks, chiggers and mosquitos. The trailhead is closeby to camping area, and a parking permit is required in the park so be sure to pay at the self pay stations, its only $4.20 for the day.
When placed the lock and lock cache held: earplugs, a Big Ben magnet, toy sherrifs badge, 6 parachute men, magnetic clip, fishing lure, dog key cover, KDOT magnet, KDOT gripper, hope you enjoy.
