Parking is at N39 21.953 W086 02.688. Enter the woods on the trail there. You are looking for 1/2 gallon thermos. This part of the woods is not used for hunting but you will find it in use the third Saturday of each month. You can still do the cache but watch out for the steam trains!
When we started caching in 2001, the Oldtimers were always out hitting the new caches and racking up FTFs. For a long time, we had more caches than they did but we never came close to as many FTFs. Then they got ahead of us in finds and we have never caught up. So congrats to Earl and Karen for getting to 3000 first. Its been fun watching your numbers climb!!
We also want to thank Earl for opening the gateway to paperless caching. After our initial exposure to GSAK, we were intrigued. Earl helped us with both GSAK and Cachemate and continues to answer my many questions. Karen keeps answering my emails. It has been fun visiting with them through the years and we are glad they still cache.
Since the original cache was a multi that had a disappearing first stage, we have made this a one-stage cache.
