This site is now utilized for the opposite use as it was established for.
This site was the construction camp for the building of the Drakensberg Pumped storage scheme in the 1970’s.
Some interesting facts about the site.
The Put-put mini golf course was the “club –hall”.
The TV Room was the mechanical work shop for town-ship maintenance.
The dairy across the road on the farm, used to be the local Dutch Reform Church (NG Kerk).
The recreational rooms where the single quarters admin offices.
The swimming pool area, was the Pub.
The only buildings with the same purpose still standing, is the squash-court and the hostel kitchen.
