Geocache Description:

Between an armory and cemetery - two of my favorite places. The foothills trail now passes within 50 feet of this cache, but there are trees, leaves, ivy and blackberries, so the terrain may vary depending on the time of year...
This rear area is a favorite of the Spookmutt - she loves big open grassy fields to play fetch in.

It is easy to find, honest. It is a large (former) mixed nuts container. Inside you'll find a ton of stuff that a live soldier would want. Initial contents include the log (an Army green memo book), a purple ink pen (the Dawg in me couldn't help it), some small ruck-sack size bungie cords, some hand warmers, a weapons cleaning patch (like a moist towelette for your rifle...), a chem-light (glowstick for you non-military types), etc.

Also inside you'll find my Travel Bug version of the Special Forces soldier - Mighty Mouse! The "18 series" guys are supposed to be able to do just about anything - they are well-versed in Direct Action, Special Reconnaissance, Counter-Insurgency and Foreign Internal Defense. They become expert with their hands, their weapons, various tools and vehicles (to include jumping out of what some call 'perfectly good airplanes'), and their minds.

Unfortunately these superhumans are not immortal. Several of my friends who used to work in the building just a few hundred yards from this spot, are now in cemeteries. That is why I placed the cache where you can see the back entrances to both the armory and cemetery. The parts that while they may not be grand and exciting, are where the real work is done. Take a moment while you're here to walk around the cemetery and pay your respects. (If you're up for a real field trip, let me know and I'll give you some names to look up in Mt Tahoma National Cemetery east of Kent near Highway 18)

Congrats to Road Trip for the FTF!! Not many plateau caches lasting beyond the first hour anymore...I'll have to start being more devious...
