This is a fairly even terrain; the cache is just about 10 feet off of a paved parking lot.
The container is a camo'ed pill bottle.
It is NOT on the ground.
This is #88 in our looong series Honoring(?) SC Geocachers.
Old Cherokee is a pretty grizzled fellow.
He looks like someone you do NOT want to cross.
He caches with his wife who signs logs as "...And Wife."
And where the heck did the name "OLD Cherokee" come from?!?
Upon questioning his son-in Law, Pompiere; who is married to Templeton; ANOTHER geocacher; we were advised there was a loooong story behind it.
So make sure if you run into The Old Cherokee you ask him what it is...we will!
As to the location of this cache and it's title, well, it has nothing to do with Old Cherokee and no, we don't know if he ever spent any time here when it was operating.
What we do know is that as any Southern Gentleman will tell you; the line between Heaven and Hell is fine and not always simple to understand.
It can be a grave manner.
Oh and it is NOT inside the business attached to the pole, Skillet!
