Najstarší doklad o Sobraneckých kúpeloch pochádza z roku 1336. V kronike grófa Sztárayho sú spomínané ako „Slané liecivé studne“ a už vtedy ich „cervení mnísi“ využívali na liecbu chudobných. Najväcší rozkvet dosiahli v období od r. 1850 až do druhej svetovej vojny. Sobranecké kúpele mali charakter letných kúpelov, co znamená, že boli v prevádzke v letnej sezóne od 15. mája do 15. septembra. Kúpele boli v 2. sv. vojne znicené a po r. 1960 ciastocne zrekonštruované. Ich prevádzka bola ukoncená v roku 2004.
V roku 1400 sa spomínajú štyri studnicky-pramene: Hlavný pramen, Horná a Dolná okenca a Ocný pramen. Vody sú sírno-jódové s mimoriadne velkým obsahom sírovodíka, kuchynskej soli a menším množstvom CO2. Liecivé úcinky vody z Hlavného pramena sa uplatnovali hlavne pri poúrazových stavoch, žalúdocných chorobách, reumatických a zápalových ochoreniach pohybového ústrojenstva. Minarálna voda mála dobré úcinky na kožné ochorenia najmä pri liecení ekzémov.
Cestou od parkoviska k malej "vežicke" prejdete okolo budovy s Hlavným pramenom. Vežicka ukrýva vrt, ktorý zásoboval vodou kúpele namiesto Hlavného pramena. Minerálnu vodu môžete ochutnat, vyteká von. Smerom na východ zacína lesná cesticka, ktorá Vás dovedie ku keške. Cestou na pravej strane uvidíte Hornú a Dolnú okencu ako dve malé jazierka. Pár metrov od kešky je odbocka vpravo k Ocnému pramenu. Pri nom si všimnite malé kúsky látky uviazané na konárikoch, ktoré sa namácali do pramena a prikladali na choré oci.
The oldest evidence of Spa Sobrance is dated to 1336. It is mentioned in count Sztáray chronicle as the "Salty medicinal wells" and at that time the "red monks" used them for treatment of paupers already. The greatest prosperity spa reaches in the period from 1850 till the World War II. Spa Sobrance were only summer spa what mean that it works only in summer season from May 15th till September 15th. The Spa was destroyed in the World War II and after 1960 it was partialy reconstructed. Its operation was finnished in 2004.
In 1400 four wells-springs are mentioned: Main spring, Horna Okenca and Dolna Okenca and the Eye well. The water is rich of sulphure an iodine with high content of sulphide, kitchen salt and lower content of carbon dioxide. The medicinal effect of Main spring was applied at treatment of post-injury status, gastric diseases, rheumatic and inflammation diseases of locomotive organs. The mineral water have positive influence on cutaneous diseases, especialy on tetter treatment.
By the way from parking to the small "tower" you walk near by the building with Main spring inside. Small tower hides the drill-hole which supply the spa with water instead of the Main spring. You can degust the mineral water, it escapes out. Small forest way starts at the tower and leads to east to the cache. On the way you can find Horna Okenca and Dolna Okenca as two small lakes. Few meters from the cache is turn to right to the Eye well. Near the well you can find small pieces of cloth attached to twigs which were wetted in the well and then applied on ill eyes.
