Geocache Description:

Another Saxon Shore Way cache in sight of the River Medway - this time on the North bank.

It looks like a beaker and when placed contained:

logbook
multi coloured pen
pencil
sheep rubber
bendy man
British Bulldog pinbadge
folding ruler
smiley trolley token
The Poppy Travel Bug

From a position close to the cache site, you can see over the River Medway to Darnet Fort and Hoo Fort, both built between about 1861 and 1872 to defend Chatham Dockyard from attack. Further along the river towards Chatham, can be seen Upnor Castle, built between 1559 and 1567.

Also in the area, are many pillboxes and other defences from the 2nd World War to prevent invasions over the large expanse of flat land.

Car parking is available at either N 51 25.068 E 000 33.898
or N 51 24.687 E 000 33.676. The Cache can be found after about a ifteen minute walk from either car park.
