Geocache Description:

This cache is placed on an old road bed- state property. Mrs. Greykitties has been thinking of putting a cache at this spot called 'Snake Hill'. Mr. Greykitties wanted to name it 'Go Oregon State Beavers'. So, this cache is named for both.

First, in the continuous taming of our roads a couple of years ago the highway department got rid of the old 'Snake Hill' where this cache is placed and built the new road you see today. The old road was much more fun, but also much more dangerous, just barely qualifying as two lanes. As you search for this cache just imagine driving on this old road. Actually I think they widened it while they 'removed' it!

When Mrs. Greykitties started talking about putting a cache there I planned an outing to take Little Greykitties to see the Beaver Dam at the bottom of the hill when we placed the cache. Mr. Greykitties being a graduate of Oregon State University (the Beavers) wanted to name the cache in their honor. So, we had to compromise. So, 'Go OSU Beavers'. While you are visiting the cache walk to the bottom of the hill and check out the very active beaver's work.

April 2009- OK I thought cachers were problem solvers, but after this post, maybe I need to point out that I did NOT say this was a cache and dash...

We've made a few drive-by's on this cache, but have finally decided to admit that we're not smart enough to get to it without violating those pesky No Trespassing signs. We read the earlier logs about the location...we saw the driveway, we saw the grassy parking area right off of the driveway, but then we saw the No Trespassing signs on both sides of the driveway. Since we Jedi have sensitive skin that is highly allergic to buckshot and tight metal bracelets, and we have been known to occasionally veer ever so slightly off track, we decided that the reward wasn't worth the risk and moved on. Looks like our beaver and snake watching will have to occur at the zoo.

There is parking about .1 mile away at the entrance to the DRTH.
