Geocache Description:

I am a fan of the supernatural, and urban legends so I thought I‘d create some caches based on things that I have heard or read about. These would be great caches to do after dark if you like to raise the hairs on the back of your neck! However, please use discretion if caching with a young child. Do not fill them in on all the details if it may scare them. This cache is a 35mm film container, well camouflaged. Also please be aware of the local hunting season and wear hunter orange as needed.

The Wendigo is an Algonquin creature that would have once been a human being. Living long ago, and finding him or herself starving during a long cold winter, they resorted to cannibalism in order to survive. Eating human flesh would have transformed them into a Wendigo. Now, it is an enormous, emancipated creature, forever starving, with an insatiable desire for humans. They spend their days hiding in the mist of the forest and their nights hunting for their next victim to feed on.
If you were to go into the woods, you would never see one. Even if you feel it’s presence following you and turn quickly, you will see nothing and realize it has moved faster and is still behind you. You may hear the sounds of light whispers that you can’t distinguish, or it may sound like a friend, a skill the Wendigo has developed to lure their prey. They are said to be the perfect predator.

So go with a friend! Stick close! Find the cache before a Wendigo finds you!
