Geocache Description:

Please note!!! This is a multi cache!

The final cache container is NOT located
at the above posted coordinates.

The coordinates are the first of five stages, on your journey
through one of the best state parks in Missouri.

I have found several caches since beginning geocaching, and have thoroughly enjoyed most multi-caches.
So... this one is a multi as well! If you follow my suggestions on this cache
you will see some of the best of what Missouri Parks have to offer.
Please stop at the Visitor Center upon entering the park and grab a free map and a comment card,
both of which are hanging to the right of the double doors.
If the office is open, please make a point to check it out, the folks that work there are friendly, there's some good info. to be found, and some great displays to see too.

You can also get a Printable Map

Ok... On to the cache...
I purposefully placed each stage of this Multicache to take you to different areas of interest, and to practically give you the grand tour of this magnificent area.
NONE of the stages require extensive bushwhacking!
You will have to leave the trail on occasion, but not for any extreme distance. All placements have been approved by the park management, for the least impact on the surrounding flora and fauna.

Attention!
Some of the containers you find on this journey are uniquely designed to blend in to the surroundings,
Don't spoil the fun for the next cacher by posting photos of them,
and please return them to where they were found.
Please practice good re-hidefication.

The first stage...
The first stage is located at the posted coordinates for this cache,
and will bring you to the general area of the main focus of this Gorgeous State Park.

Stage Two....
To get to stage two, you have to find the Archaeology panel of the information boards in the area...
and JUST the panel with ARCHAEOLOGY on the top.
A = the number of men excavating in the photo
B = the number of arrowheads PICTURED, subtract 2

Stage 2 located at
N 38 54.32A
W091 34.3B1

Please note.. Between stage two and stage three is a bit of rugged trail with some elevation gain, it's not terribly difficult but if you would prefer to avoid this, (and some great rock formations) you can back track to the trail leading to the Interpretive Shelter near the South Parking lot.

Stage three...
Coordinates for stage three of this cache will be located at stage two, they are on a brass tag,
The tag itself is will be found inside a camouflaged container.

Stage four...
Coordinates for stage four of this cache will be located at stage three, they are on a brass tag,
The tag itself is will be found inside a camouflaged container.

Stage five..
The final stage... WOO HOO!!!
Stage five is the final stage, and coordinates for finding it will be at stage 4 in yet another camouflaged container on yet another brass tag. The final stage is what you've been lookin for all along and is a Large ammo can, containing a variety of goodies.

As I mentioned before, this multicache is designed to take you to most of the great attractions of Graham Cave State park. It will require a moderate amount of walking and at least an hour and a half of your time, but is not extremely difficult.
The ascent to the first stage will be one of the steepest on your journey,
PLEASE don't let it keep you from doing this cache, consider it a warm up for your walk.
All of the trails are very well maintained, and are fairly smooth.
Due to the length of this cache,
I will give you the names of the trails to take in order to expedite your journey.

Start on Graham Cave trail..
then continue on to The Fern Ridge trail..
from there you'll need to venture onto the Loutre River trail,
and Finish off taking the Indian Glade trail which will eventually bring you back to a main road.

Please follow all the rules and regulations of the park, and CITO as needed.

I didn't try to make this an "Impossible Journey"
But merely a fantastic hike in one of Missouri's finest parks.

As a BONUS CACHE....

I will allow you to log this cache twice for an extra smiley to anyone
who posts a picture of themselves in front of the cave!!!

I do realize not everyone has access to a camera though,
in that case, please email me with the following information.

Just south of the boat ramp is a picnic table, and just south of that is a sign,
email me with the reason why that sign was placed there.

This is a bonus though so if you post a DNF for the cache,
please don't log this one until you actually find the original cache.

As with most hiking experiences, there is a lot of potential for serious bodily injury
if wandering / bushwhacking too far off of the trails.

Please use your good judgement, and stay on the trails as much as possible.

Emergency Contact Information for Graham Cave State Park

Don't be a Glade Stomper!

Make it a fun and safe adventure.

Remember that comment card you picked up on the way in?
The park management really likes hearing feedback on how folks feel about the park, it's postage paid,
just jot a note or two down and pop it in a post box.
I hope you like the cache, and that this was a memorable experience.
Cache on!!!
