Geocache Description:

Allen's Falls, on the west branch of the St. Regis River, must be one of the most interesting and beautiful waterfalls in New York State. The terrain is varied and, at times, dramatic. This is a great place to picnic and to wander.

Please keep track of small children at all times. Be careful if you try this cache in the winter or in wet weather: wet moss and rocks are slippery and dangerous. As a quick rule of thumb, if you can't walk or rock-hop across the brook in the pictures (on the way in to the falls), come back another day.

There are almost always other people in at the falls, which is why I chose not to hide the cache right near the water. Please help to keep the area tidy.

The cache is a 30-cal ammo can. It is not in plain view, and is well hidden. Please leave it that way after your find. Remember to Cache In, Trash Out. There are spare trash bags there, if you're willing to help.

Another of my caches, called Allen's Falls Area, is nearby but cannot be reached from this location. Separate directions are posted for that cache. Both can easily be done in a single outing.

FTF: Congratulations to bkjcox on being the first finder!
