Ahoy There! Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

Wis Kid: As there's been no cache to find for months, I'm archiving it to keep it from continually showing up in search lists, and to prevent it from blocking other cache placements. If you wish to repair/replace the cache sometime in the future, just contact us (by email), and assuming it meets the guidelines, we'll be happy to unarchive it.

Geocache Description:

The traditional cache is a small plastic case with a paper log and small pencil. Please replace the cache as you found it. It is handicap accessible depending on where you start your search. Some stealth techniques may be needed depending on the seasons of the year.

Calumet County Park is located 2 miles north of Stockbridge on STH 55 on the east shore of Lake Winnebago. This 200 acre park has much to offer. Indian Effigy Mounds, a Post-Civil War Brickyard, and the Niagara Escarpment , combined with forest and lake, create a beautiful park. Lake Winnebago is roughly 28 miles long and 10.5 miles at its widest point. It covers 215 square miles with a maximum depth of 21 feet. The lake is enriched with a variety of fish species, including the largest Lake Sturgeon population in North America. The park has playground equipment, a volleyball court, picnicking, nature/hiking trails, mountain bike trails, camping, a concession stand/store/office, a modern bathhouse and a dump station. It also has a 6 lane boat launch facility and plenty of parking.
