PEACHTREE Points Of Interest - THE SERIES

Peachtree, Peachtree, Everywhere! This ever-expanding series of Caches highlight Points Of Interest located in Atlanta, GA along this road called Peachtree.

Atlanta is famous for many things but among the best known is Peachtree Street. It’s been said that you can’t drive through Atlanta without encountering at least one street, court, lane, circle, trail or spur that has PEACHTREE in its name. But all these pretenders are but side-streets off the main thoroughfare which starts as Peachtree Street downtown and runs north of the city as Peachtree Road. As its 15 mile stretch weaves through town, it traces the history and highlights of Atlanta.

RAILROAD REBEL (Peachtree POI #1)

Railroad Rebel The Location: Atlanta was created and thrived as a Railroad town. This is an area with an archway, statue and brick plaza surrounded in greenery just north of the towers that make up the center of downtown Atlanta. A statue depicts Samuel Spencer, “a Georgia confederate soldier and the first president of The Southern Railway Company,” one of the main railroads that served this town.

The Cache: A small plastic box wrapped in camo tape. Free parking is difficult but not impossible. There are no barriers but the area is open from 7a - Sunset.
