Mythical Creatures
In every area of the world there are legends and folk tales
that tell of Mythical creatures, some good some bad. Some tales
tell of creatures that help with daily chores and gift us with
blessings. others tell of dark secrets and dark doings.....
SELKIES
Selkis
are mythical creatures that come from Faroese, Irish,
Icelandic and Scottish Mythology. Selk(ie) is the Scottish
word for Seal.
Selkies are able to transform to human form from seal. It is said
that that they can shed their seal skins when they wish to become
human and put it back on when they are ready to return to the sea.
They are only allowed short periods of time in the human world
before the Sea calls to them. So if your loved one is a Selkie the
only way to keep them is to steal their skin and hide it from them
for it is the only way to keep them with you. Once a Selkie returns
to the Sea he/she cannot come back to you for seven years.
Male Selkies tend to be attracted to human women with poor romantic
lives, If a woman wishes to attract a male Selkie all she need do
is shed seven tears into the sea and one shall come
PLEASE NOTE while there are 4 islands on this lake it is only
ok to be on two of them 1 is a Scientific Nature area and 1
is Privately owned. Enjoy.
