Geocache Description:

A nice hike in the new Musser Gap area of Rothrock State Forest.

In 2006, Musser Gap was purchased by a local environmental stewardship organization with the intention of incorporating this area into Rothrock State Forest. This area has been designated an important area not only to the local water supply but also to our local birds. Read more about the acquisition and the land here: ClearWater Conservancy web site

The parking area for Musser Gap is off Rt. 45 between Pine Grove Mills and Shingletown. Please stay on the trail when accessing this area. The trail can get a bit muddy with a few streams to cross when the water is high. The cache is within 30ft of the trail -- no bushwacking required! The container is a plastic container big enough for a few TBs or small trading items.

This area is open for hunting during PA's hunting seasons (roughly November to February) so remember to wear orange during that time!
