Geocache Description:

You are standing close to the launch ramp of Brunel’s “Great Eastern”, a luxurious passenger ship built in 1852, and capable of carrying 4000 passengers. At almost 700ft long, she remained the largest ship ever built until the early 1900’s. She was finally launched on 31st January 1858, and was Brunel’s last project. He suffered a stroke whilst having a photograph taken on her deck, and died 10 days later. The ship failed as a passenger service, being ahead of her time – instead she was converted to a transatlantic cable laying ship. There is a photograph in the images section of the ship in the dry dock, and a photo of Brunel taken against the launching chains, some of which are still in place at the cache site.

19/01/2009 - cache changed from a magnetic micro to a small box, and moved slightly in location to get you amongst the site itself. Spoiler will give it away.

Now room for small TB's and swaps
