A phenomenon known as Sudden Oak Death was first reported in 1995 in central coastal California.Since then, tens of thousands of tanoaks, coast live oaks and California black oaks have been killed by this newly identified fungas. What attracted me to my cache site was the hill it is located on. Please notice one side is completely dead, while the other side shows great beauty and peace. A special thanks to my buds asaxist and humboldt flier for making this cache fun. Look for their caches close by!
