Geocache Description:

Bring your own pen. Initials only please.

This cache is about where I grew up and went to school. That school you see was Pleasant Valley Elementary School and I went there K-6 grade. The 1st house to the East across from the school is my parents house where I grew up. My dad worked at General Electric (which is now gone) and my mom was a postal carrier for 30 years.

I would like for you to share a funny story that happened to you in your elementary days.

Here are three stories that happened to me in school.

First Grade: Marbles were a big thing and I always played with them a recess. Well, one day in class my marble bag rolled out from under my desk and the marbles went on the floor. I picked them up and then the teacher confiscated them and said she would hold them for 1 week. One week goes bye and it's recess time and she said "it's time to give back the marbles." She walked outside and threw all of my marbles out on the hillside and it was a free-for-all with my classmates. I probably didn't weigh 50lbs, but I was mighty trying to get all my marbles back and preventing others from getting them. I bet if I looked hard enough there are still marbles in that hillside where she threw them.

Third Grade: One day in class (I was sitting in back), I told the teacher I couldn't see what she was writing on the board. Next thing I know I'm heading to the eye doctor to get checked out. Then I get glasses that I probably didn't even wear for more than 6 months. The problem wasn't my eyes as 40 years later I still do not wear glasses as I have 20/10 vision, the problem was she wasn't writing neat enough that I could see it. Oh well, there is that goofy 3rd grade class picture with me in glasses.

Fifth Grade: I liked this girl so I wrote my first 'love' letter to her. The class took a bathroom break and when I came back to the room...it was YIKES. The girl had given the teacher my letter and then the teacher was reading the letter to the class outloud as I walked back into class. Needless to say that girl and I never became an item.

Looking forward to reading your funny story in school.
