Weary Traveler & Doggie Friendly Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

sparkles4u: Well, it almost hit the 2 year mark. Someone actually took ammo box and all! This was my very favorite cache and I was just going to refresh the contents today. Not even a container to put it in. So sad, but it has come to its end. Some day perhaps the theme will find another location. Thanks to all who contributed with the wonderful comments.

AREA DESCRIPTION: You have needs- for gas, a rest stop, an auto repair; to eat, stretch your legs, release younger ones from confinement, potty the doggie, and to find a “no-brainer” geocache! Welcome to Exit 44, Cedar Lake Road south. No need to worry if you are driving a motor home even with a tow. Make a left turn into the home improvement store parking area and you should have no problem. Don’t fret or steam if you miss the turn. Just work your way into the left lane. There is a small shopping center on the left you can wheel around to work your way back. If you get this far you might see a dollar store and a Mexican restaurant in the middle, an auto repair shop at the far end, and several other eating places across the road. In the general area are an auto parts store, animal and human medical clinics and a motorcycle dealership. Therefore, many of your travel needs may be met on this detour.
THE HUNT: First, potty the doggie; your canine friend may just lead you to the cache. (Please, please be considerate and pick up afterward.) GPS accuracy on over cast day was within 5 feet of coordinates taken on clear night.
THE CACHE: (Regular/medium size container) Trying out the “3 swag bag” within the container for improved rummaging of needs from the cache.
1. Log book and Travelers
2. Kid Stuff (toys, lucky stones, DVD)
3. Adult Swag (gemstone choice, book on tape, beads, nail brush)
