Year round cache on the Gold Mint Trail in Hatcher Pass. CONGRATULATIONS TO CONJIMMUR FOR FTF!!!
This cache is roughly about or just under 2 miles up the Gold Mint Trail which can be hiked in the summer or hiked, snowshoed, or skied in the winter. A lovely trail heading out at a gradual incline following the creek through the spruce, birch, and alders up the valley all the way to the Mint Hut overlooking the Mint Glacier. I've rated it a three on the terrain rating simply due to the distance out and back. The hike/ski/snowshoe itself is quite easy.
The cache is a short distance from the trail so snowshoes or skis would be helpful in the winter and it looks like there might be a bit of cow parsnip and/or devils club to contend with in the summer.
This cache should be out of any avalanche hazzard, but as always, please use caution and take the appropriate gear when traveling in the backcountry whatever the season.
