Presents
A Walk in the Park – NSP Final
Winner of the WSGA Cache of the Month - Dec 2007
This is not a cache for the complainers. If you lack
imagination, determination, and good geosense, then you should just
stay home and watch TV, because this cache isn’t for you. If
however, you enjoy a good multi-cache, that sends you on a
mini-adventure, getting you a bit turned around in the process,
then you have come to the right place. As most people know, I’m not
a big fan of puzzle caches. You won’t find any riddles, or items to
count, numbers to transpose, just a plain simple concept: Enter
numbers, and find your way.
The waypoints and their descriptions are in the hints section,
you will need these clues in case the reception throws off your
coords. If you DNF you can receive additional hints. If I happen to
run into you, you can ask for a clue/hint.
MaplessInSeattle would like to thank E5150 for bravely choosing
to beta-test this cache for us. We didn’t want to send anyone on a
10 point, 2 mile multi-cache, without testing it first. Since E5150
hates us, we asked him to do it. After all, no big loss if he
doesn’t return from the woods. LOL, Just kidding by the way, we
really enjoy E5150’s company, he’s a nice guy once you get past the
gruff exterior.
Additional Advice for this cache:
You will not always be looking for the same thing on each leg of
the cache.
Every waypoint is/was visible at time of placement.
Every waypoint is obscured from view slightly, to ensure protection
of them.
If you require multiple visits, do not get discouraged, it took us
forever to accomplish this cache.
Do NOT rely solely on coordinates.
If you are one of the first four to complete this cache, my hat is
off to you.
The shortest distance between two points in caching, is rarely a
straight line.
Every waypoint and the final has a path, there is technically no
bushwhacking required.
90% of the cache takes place south of S136th St. Parking
available in the main NSP parking lot. One block west of WP0
Clayjar rates this cache 4/3.75
For those fortunate enough to reach their destination, the end
cache is a 5-gallon bucket. Feel free to sign the Geocache at WP#2,
it was placed by Boy Scout Troop 360 out of Burien, WA. I'm sure
they would appreciate knowing it was visited.
If you DNF on this cache. Send me an email: asknetguy@hotmail.com You will
be redirected to a website that will give you spoiler pics, or text
based clues, specify your preference in the email
message.
Waypoint #0: If you are like me, you hate private property caches.
If the house you are at is lavender, you are at the right spot. You
will not need to go into the fenced yard. There is a tree stump
painted RED, this is your desired search area. Max distance onto
private property should be 6.75 feet from sidewalk. Don't kill the
blackberries here, I feed them to my bugs. Since the rest of the
cache is only available during daylight hours, please respect
homeowners by giving the same courtesy for the first leg of the
cache as well.
Waypoint 0 - If you ask this guy about the coordinates
he'll talk his head off
It is highly advised that you have the following:
- Gloves
- Walking Stick
- Boots
Congrats to FunnyNose and The Mercury Project for the
dedicated FTF
Honorable mention to JB AngryMarmots for finding WP5 with NO Hint!
Wow!
