Located along one of the gravel trails on the Struve Slough in
Watsonville. Multi-geocache starts at the Nature Center.
Welcome to the Struve Slough Geocache! This is a Multi-cache that will guide you from the Nature Center to a wonderful slough view!
Begin this geocache by getting yourself to the Nature Center located at:
N 36°54.819 W 121°46.242
Go ahead and get yourself a free map here and take advantage of the exhibits. You don’t need the map for this
geocache, but if you can get one you can enjoy all portions of the slough trails! Now, read the address for the Nature Center – it’s on the right front of the building.
The first number is “X” and the second number is “Y”.
You will have to drive to the next coordinate which is located at a school with the coordinates:
N 36°54.711 W 121°46.5X5
Park here to finish the geocache on foot. There is a sign with the name of the school. The number of letters in the name
of the school is “Z”.
Now get yourself to the trail head which is located nearby at coordinates:
N 36°54.74Y W 121°46.64Y
Enjoy the walk down this gravel trail until you get to a bench &
informational sign at the coordinates:
N 36°54.591 W 121°46.7ZY
The geocache is very close! Continue on the trail for 35 steps then stop. Take a left off the trail for 15 steps. There is an old post here and the geocache is located next to it!! It’s an ammo box with plenty of room for trades! Have a great time and enjoy the views as you take the hike. If you continue down the trail you will find another big viewing area of birds and the slough!
