Geocache Description:

Close to the road, tons of parking, fairly level ground, 1125 feet as I recall for elevation.

You will be looking for a clear shiny small pickle jar. It is not buried under a bunch of sticks and leaves, so there is no reason to roto-till the area in your search. I apologize in advance for the poor coordinates, they just would not settle down.

There is no need to go over the edge of river bank and it is close to the ground. If you have Geo-Pups along, they can run in the fenced enclosure across the street while you search.

Contents included a flashlight for your future night searches, some small items and a logbook. You may need to BYOP.

If these old cottonwood trees could talk, what a story they could tell. They might even be able to tell you of some famous baseball player that played nearby. Maybe the tale would include famous horses that raced on the old track or of silly kids who slipped in at night and raced cars around the track. You could hear stories of rodeo riders or demolition derbies. Might even be able to share a love story or two in the shade of the big trees on the river. I am sure somewhere along the line a family has had a picnic or two here while waiting for the activities across the street. These two might be old enough to tell you of herds of buffalo and those who hunted them....

The west hotel has quite a few dead and hollow spots, so if the wind is howling, put it off for another day. I would hate to have a geocacher crushed by a cottonwood branch.

The squirrels were active today, racing around the trunk and chattering at me. If it was legal, a guy could sit at the base of these two hotels and limit out on squirrels in less than an hour.

They drive my Geo-Pups nuts!

I would like to thank the Idaho Geocachers for the placement of this cache, the container and contents were donated as a Kansas disaster relief program. Hopefully, we will not see another year of floads and tornadoes like 2007 in my lifetime.....
