Take the Short Cut Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

Tarheel Hunters: Progress on the lake is unpredictable. When the trail will be accessible is anyone's guess. I'm going to archive this cache and hope I can replace it one day or one simular. Thanks to everyone who visited in. I hope you enjoyed the trail and look forward to another cache when the trail returns. Tarheel Hunters.

Geocache Description:

George Poston Park The Trail
George Poston Park is located about half way between Lowell and Spencer Mountain on the Lowell-Spencer Mountain Road. It has 4 fenced baseball diamonds. 4 additional multipurpose fields for soccer, football, concerts and other large gatherings. A large playground with climbing equipment, picnic areas, a 24-court championship-caliber lighted horseshoe pitching facility, and a fantastic dog park.
Park hours are 6AM till 11PM.

As you drive down the entrance road toward the park the trail head will be on the left at an information sign.
The trail is excellent for hiking, jogging, and biking. It has a short option which measures approximately 1 mile. The cache is a camo painted ammo box located along the Micheaux Loop. While your on the trail hunt for "The Trail at Poston Park" also on the Micheaux Loop.

A big thank you to the Piedmont Area Single Track Alliance(PASA) volunteers who have worked hundreds of hours to build over 5 miles of trails at Poston Park. (video)

Here is a great trail map compliments of PASA.
