Zig or Zag? Multi-Cache

This cache has been archived.

BrianDiane: Alas, a maintenance run has revealed two of the tags are missing, or at least unreachable, and the route to the cache is now almost impassable without venturing on to private property. With deep regret, and with apologies to Bellauch, I have decided it's time to open this lovely forest to other cache hiders.

Geocache Description:

This is a pretty straightforward multi in or around the Kennedy Craig Forest (although this location is notorious for jumpy satellite signals). You can park near N45 17.507 W75 42.801, and from there a short stroll and then a short bushwhack will take you to the first waypoint at the posted coordinates. The entire hike could last less than an hour.

The first, and each subsequent, waypoint consists of a large, oxidized copper tag with two numbers indicating the distance in meters and the bearing in degrees True to the next waypoint or the cache. At some waypoints, there are two tags because the tag-blind CO could not find the originals during a maintenance visit and needlessly placed a new one.

Brian’s pretty sure the first number is the distance and the second is the bearing, but Diane swears one or two are the other way around. Who ya gonna believe?

Anyway, it’s a pretty small forest, so how hard can it be?

UPDATE: Nov 22, 2010 - rechecked the coordinates of all waypoints and the cache using my newer GPSr. Added new tags at the posted coordinates and WP#2, even though subsequent finders have noted the originals are still there. Left the former tag at WP#3 since it seems to be spot on, but to zero in on the cache, subtract 20 m. and 2 degrees T from the numbers on the tag at WP#3.

The cache is a medium sized lock ‘n lock, and contained at birth the usual FTF booty (real!), log, pencil, virgin TB “Piper,” Colombian trinket, toys, pin and caching note.
