This is accessible Monday - Saturday, 9-8 and
Sunday, 10-6. Don't fret, there's no purchase necessary!
Just enjoy the visit and thank the people for keeping watch
over your bugs.
Note! (1) When you arrive you must let somebody behind the
counter know that you are a geocacher that is looking for
this cache. (2) It's sitting in plain sight but is NOT
where I took the picture. It'll be up to you to locate it, just
keep your chin up and you'll find it. (3) When you do find
it, take it to the counter area to open it. (4) Trade swag and bugs
if you like. No need to trade a bug for a
bug.
Now for some history about the cache. On Thanksgiving
Day, 2007, a geocacher by the name of
lagrac stopped by my
WRBA TB VAULT. It’s within sight of my back window. When I
spotted him I grabbed the opportunity to welcome a visitor.
Finally, I saw someone arrive since I moved the VAULT to my back
yard.
After a few minutes conversing in
the geocaching dialect he asked if I would be willing to take
a really big TB off his hands. I agreed. He jogged to his
vehicle and came back with a 4 x 5 x 10 inch
dried alligator head. Nice. Not being able to locate a cache
that's large enough to hold it I decided to use this as an
opportunity to make a new one that is. I was also looking for an
excuse to see if I could place a box in a very unique place that I
have been visiting off and on for many years. I got permission,
went to Hobby Lobby to look for a suitable box and found the
perfect container!! I got it for half price to boot: only 4
bucks.
Although I made this geocache to hold the alligator head
travel bug, I welcome swag as well as other bugs. I would
especially like to see swag that fits the tropical paradise theme.
Be as cordial to the keepers of the cache as they are to you. If
they are too busy to help, be patient. Bring the kids, they will
love this tropical island in the middle of the Waterloo/Cedar falls
area!
