OK, I'm committed to doing SOMETHING to ring in the New Year ...
one that I want to be a BANNER YEAR. I am not a big party kind of
gal, so I decided to offer something a little tamer for New Year's
Eve.
ATTENTION!! NEW
LOCATION!!
THE OLD ONE HAD A FIRE!
N 30° 29.033 W 097° 44.176
MESA ROSA ON 620
JUST SOUTH OF BRUSHY CREEK SUBDIVISION
The hostesses will know where the Geocachers are.
I never found a fireworks-free location; I wonder if there IS
such a thing! But, I also decided because the weather is going to
take a cold and windy turn on New Year's Eve, that I would not plan
any actual geocaching for the event. I don't want a relapse to
bring in the New Year!
If you and your buds want to go caching after the event, there
are PLENTY of caches right in the area that would not be too
difficult to hunt at night, so go for it! I'm certain several of us
at the event could provide advice and suggestions.
Now, as for dinner ... 6:30 is the time, and I expect us to be
there til 8:30 or 9:00, so if you have to come late, there's your
time frame. Mesa Rosa has graciously agreed to do some special
grilling for those of us who want to dine low fat/high protein, or
completely vegetarian, and I will provide the veggies for them to
grill. Of course, all their regular fare will be available, and we
will be receiving separate checks. Please tip generously! These
folks are being really nice to us.
Come prepared with you New Year's Caching Resolution; I will be
recording them for posterity (and possible awards at NEXT year's
New Year event)! They don't need to be anything lofty, or high and
mighty ... just something you would like to accomplish in the
coming year. Don't say I didn't warn you!
See you there and Happy Trails!
