Geocache Description:

This is a house shaped tin container in a large ziplock bag just off the road near a turnout. It is large enough to hold almost any TB items. The container represents all of the homes the amazing firemen have saved.

UPDATE 1/25/10: The neat fairly large house-shaped container is now gone....and has been replaced with a much smaller generic container to see if it disappears also...too bad.

In 1991, a few short weeks after the devastating Oakland Hills fire, we were evacuated out of our home at the top of Weber Creek Canyon. This cache is placed very near where this fire started. A few years later, we had a second fire very near our house, and a third in July, 2007. Each time the firefighters were awesome - with only minor outbuildings lost for all three fires combined. This cache is to thank the firemen for all of their hard work and bravery.

The original contents includes a large assortment of trade items, including a EDHFD trading card that we picked up recently at TRAKD's cache 'Simple Math' with this placement in mind.

EDITED 8/17/08: Added charred wood collected, on first anniversary of the Angora Fire, from the incident site - PLEASE LEAVE IN THE CACHE - it is NOT a trade item!

CONGRATS to plazmo for the FTF!
