Geocache Description:

This cache is part of an extension to Sadexploration’s immensely far–reaching Church Micro series. Hopefully, it will attain the high standard already set and bring some Geo-life back to this part of Kent.

St.Mary

Number 77 in the series is St Mary in Higham. Originally built during the Norman reign, this isolated church set on the edge of the Thames’ Marshes underwent much expansion and restoration during the 14th Century, believed to be the work of an establishment of Benedictine nuns close by. Made from ragstone and knapped flint, visitors must see the 14th Century pulpit, the 15th Century chancel screen that is rare for being retained in its original position, and the south door noted for its detailed carving and original iron work.

The initial coordinates are not for the cache but for car parking available on Church St.

The final position of the cache is at N 51° AB.F(A+C)(A+C+E) E 000° A(E+C) DC0 which is revealed by solving the following clue.

N 51° 26.425 E 000° 28.110 - In memory of Ernest Charles Cramp - November ABth CDEF.

The cache has a log book but no pen so please bring one with you.

If anybody would like to expand this series please do, I would just ask that you could let sadexploration know first so he can keep track of the Church numbers and names to avoid duplication
