Geocache Description:

Gary Burbank, the voice of Earl Pitts and Gilbert Gnarley on Cincinnati's 700 WLW radio, retired today, Dec.21, 2007 after nearly three decades on the air. This day has been officially proclaimed Gary Burbank and Gilbert G-N-A-R-L-E-Y Day in Butler County, Oh.

From the Official 700 WLW Website:

"For 27 years, Cincinnati has been blessed as the home of Gary Burbank. Over those many years the media has transformed. Cable television came of age. Satellites were launched to broadcast radio. The internet has become a daily part of our lives. Through all, Gary remained at the top of the radio industry and became a legend.

Gary touched our lives as listeners, fans and coworkers. For those of us who have had the opportunity to know him personally and professionally, it’s difficult to express in words what he has meant to us as a teacher, mentor and friend. Anyone who made their way through the halls at 700WLW has been enriched and their careers furthered by being lucky enough to have worked with, taught by and befriended by Gary. While he may have downplayed his skills, no one knows how to relate and talk with a radio audience better than Gary Burbank, a true original.

27 years has gone by and we are left wondering where those years have gone. As usual in life the good times pass too quickly. Our lives may have one less daily smile from now on.

Thank you for everything, Gary."

And to that guy named Earl, we have to say: Pitts Off!!

The Orange trail will get you fairly close. Some average bushwacking and a small creek crossing is neccessary, at least the way I went in did.
