Short hop off a paved trail, but you can't get to it in a wheelchair. Easy hide; use your geosense & watch for muggles!
This cache has been riding around in the trunk of my car for months, waiting to be placed. We finally got around to putting it out on this beautiful December day after a day of caching. Initial contents: hand sanitizer, watch, & lots of good swag for kids. May not be room for larger items as the container is stuffed full already. This would be a great cache to introduce kids or new geocachers to the sport.
Shawnee Mission Park hours:
March 1 - October 31, 5:00 a.m. - 11:00 p.m.
November 1 - February 28, 7:30 a.m. - 8:00 p.m.
There can be many muggles near by since it's near a playground and right off a trail frequented by riders, joggers, & dog walkers. Use stealth and please re-hide as you found it or better to prevent muggling.
Parking is available nearby in SM Park at Barkley Drive & Walnut Grove near the big playground. Alternate parking can be found on Penrose Ln just south of W 84th St inside the neighborhood, but you'll have a longer hike on the trail.
