Geocache Description:

Somerset is the land of dragons. We even have one as our crest (no, it’s not a wyvern it’s a dragon!) This is the first in a series of caches celebrating some of the famous (and not so famous) dragons of Somerset.

legend has it that here resided the Norton dragon. This red dragon formed here from the rotting bodies after a fierce battle on the hillfort. The dragon terrorised the surrounding countryside, until in the 13th century, Fulke Fitzwarren, a brave knight killed it and cut off its head. This act is commemorated in a carving in the nearby church, a short walk downhill from the parking area.

The cache is located next to the West Deane Way. Please cover over well as it will be muggled if left exposed.

Please respect the dragon's cache by only caching in metallic and shiny objects. Cache in plastic and feel the dragon's wrath!

Don’t forget to record the clue in the front of the logbook, which will help you find the final bonus cache.
