Geocache Description:

The Blood Box

It started out as an innocent day, one of those beautiful fall days where the temperature was just right and the weather clear. I decided to go out and do a little bit of exploring and hiking so off I headed to one of my favorite places. Got to the parking location I wanted, grabbed my day pack and hiking staff and off I went. I started on a regular trail, enjoying the sun on my face but soon saw what I thought was an animal trail and feeling very adventurous, decided to see were it would take me. That was the first mistake I made that day. It took me deeper into the part of the woods I had never venture into before and then it started to mist. I stopped under a tree to get my rain coat out of my pack and nibble on a high energy snack bar, 1 of the 9 I was carring, trying to decide what I was going to do. After a few seconds of thinking while the oat clusters kicked in and the honey did it's job, I decided. Alright, lets continue this hike and see were it takes me. I continued to walk in the mist but now the skies were getting darker and the mist became a steady rain. Figures, this morning they said clear skies all day. I wish the Oklahoman weathermen would buy one of those high tech weather devices known as a window to see what the weather was actually doing. SHEESH!

Finally it was coming down in a deluge of heavy rain and I knew I needed shelter fast. I spied a big old tree with a huge canopy and some fallen limbs that made a natural shelter. As I got closer I noticed a weathered cross on the trunk, a celtic style cross used in marking a grave. Now that was spooky I thought. I examined it for a few more seconds and then duck down under the branches. That is when I saw the ammo box, painted in a strange design. I didn't remember a cache here so maybe it was just planted and hadn't been approved yet. Cool, I might get a FTF and beat everyone before it got published. I took a quick Sat reading and locked it into my GPSr to check the Geocaching site later when I got home. Looking at the cache, I just had to open it and see who planted it here. Now when I grabbed the box, it felt wet and sticky...mmmm not dried yet I thought. That is when the worst happened. I opened the box and saw a horror that just was beyond words. The sides were still wet because it was the blood and bone and bile of something. I say something because the parts of the face was unreconizable and I couldn't tell what it was. It was horrible. And at the same time the winds picked up to a gale force and the branches were whipping around, grabbing me like the tree was alive and trying to fight me as the wind made unholy sounds. I was FREAKING OUT! I closed the box and put it back and got out of there. I was practically running full speed back were I came from as it felt like something was right behind me, chasing me. I swear the trees were grabbing me trying to slow me down as I was crashing thru the trees so what ever was behind me could get me. And the noise I just can't describe, it was unbearable and evil. Out of breathe and sweating profusely, I finally made it to the road that would take me back to my truck. That is when the winds quit and the rains stopped. Let me say I got out of there quick!

Okay my fellow adventurers, the coords above will take you to where I was, the site of the ammo box, what I refer to as The Blood Box. If you are brave enough, you will see what I mean. I'm not going back there that is for sure. I haven't been able to sleep in the 4 days since that day in the woods. And I am jumping at every noise I hear and every shadow I see. I don't know what I released when I opened that box but it isn't natural, and it isn't nice. Forgive me my fellow cachers but you are on your very own...and remember that in the deep woods, no one can here you scream!!!
