A walk across rough moorland to a historic crash site.
On the 25th January 1940, Royal Navy Volunteer Reserve Officer Sub-Lieutenant Williamson became separated from other members of his flight and crashed here in the snow. It was a month before the wreckage of his Fairey Swordfish biplane was found with the pilot still strapped in the cockpit.
The aircraft engine was recovered in 1968 and now resides in the Royal Navy Aircraft Museum.
