Geocache Description:

Mrs BVPete and I placed a cache on the summit of Rangers Ridge, west of Bragg Creek in 2007. A hike of between 4.6 and 5.4 kms (one way depending on route choice) with an elevation gain of approximately 300 meters will be required to find the cache. This is a very pleasant and scenic hike, once involving considerable bushwacking, but is now entirely on trails.

The summit can now be accessed from the West Bragg parking area. The north end of the Ranger Summit Trail starts from the west end of the parking lot. It is well signed and will delivery you to the top of the ridge in 4.6 kms. If you start from Allen Bill Pond on Hwy 66 follow the Fullerton loop in a counter – clockwise direction to WP002 where the south end of the Ranger Summit Trail is located. Using this route will require a hike of 5.4 kms (one way). It is also well signed and easy to follow. The views are somewhat limited from the summit, but it is the highest point between the West Bragg Creek RA and Allen Bill Pond RA and obviously, must be climbed!

The cache is a small LnL containing a very few trade items. It's rocky hiding place has been well decorated by Mrs BVPete using forest items such as, but not limited to (I always liked that phrase), spruce and pine cones. A little further along the trail you will find a very nice rustic seating arrangement, ideal for a picnic and/or general pondering.
