Mashpee River Meander

 Updated 5/22/20        . The trail to this eight stage multi cache meanders for a mile and a half down an old woods road along narrow winding paths along the west bank of the Mashpee River.   There are several overlooks affording view of the River.  Park at the end of pavement on River St., mark your car, and head north along the woods road. Turn right on the path at the trail map to find stage one, the listed coordinates. Continue generally northward along the paths until you encounter another woods road), turn left and then look left for a path along a stream to find stage three. No bushwhacking required. Cross the road and continue up stream before rejoining the road a third time. The last few stages take you down increasing overgrown (though marked) trails to the cache. Look for trail signs. All stages are in plain view from the right angle but coordinate repeatability varies so use the photos and the hints to tell you where to look. On the route back to your car you’ll pass close by the Benches Cache. Stop by and enjoy the view.

Update 5/22/20 All stages and the cache have been replaced, repaired and buffed to a high sheen ;-) Cache placed with permission of the Mashpee Conservation Commission.
